I love you because you leave that knife balanced on the mayo jar. I love you because you like to tell stories about your childhood every time we pass your old neighborhood. I love you because of how you look in that dark blue shirt. I love you because you let me sleep in. I love you because you gave the apple tree a “hair cut”. I love you for all the times you call me to see if I need anything at the store before you head home from work.
I love you because you sit next to me at church every week. I love you because you can be kind, yet firm, with our sons. I love you most of all because you first loved me.
