Just a sampling of some of my young, hip, cool teens from this fall's shooting.  And it was so easy with MCP Actions' Magic Blog-it Boards.  With just a click on the button, the board is ready for your photos.  It automatically inserts the photos you select.  Add a Branding Bar and a few embellishments, and you've got a great new way to show off your photos.  Click on the photos to go get your own Magic Blog-it Board Actions.
My favorite actions come from Jodi at MCP Actions.  Love them!  Thought I would try a bit of a color blast on Ben's brick wall.  Whoa!  Look at that!  Someone has spray painted some lovely grafitti on the wall.  How convenient that it says "Ben" and the year he is graduating.  I love it when you find just the right place to take a picture!
I got the new Nikon D90 yesterday and I couldn't be happier! I still haven't figured out all the new settings, but what I see, I really like. The HD video feature is cool! Not something I will use all the time, but a fun extra. I am really pleased with the sharpness of the kit lens, AF-S Nikkor 18-105mm 3.5-5.6 ED with vibration reduction. Here's a sample shot in my dining room in front of the curtain. Even with just the on camera flash, you get a decent picture. I can't wait to use this at my Senior Photo Shoot next Saturday.

Here is a quick sample of the video.

Jodi at MCP Actions has been busy again and has created a second set of the wonderful Magic Blog It Boards.  We are so spoiled!  And.. not only that!  She has also created the Magic Print It set for printed collages!  Yes, indeed, we are spoiled!  Here's what Jodi says about it:  "If you love the ease of Magic Blog It Boards but want to be able to create for print that quick and easy, these are for you.  In seconds you can choose 10×20, 16×20, 20×24, 11×14 and 20×30 storyboards, watch them build and insert your photos.  And even change border colors!  And you are ready to upload.  A HUGE TIME SAVER for sure. " You've seen me use the Magic Blog It Boards on this blog.  Here's another one to show you how cool it can be. Now... go get some!!!!
I am a big fan of MCP Actions. No wait, I am a really, big fan of MCP Actions! So when Jodi from MCP Actions announced a new Photoshop Action was coming soon, I waited with much impatience and excitement. Yesterday, the first day you could purchase her new action, I was online with credit card in hand. This action is a little different than her photo enhancing actions. This action automatically creates picture boards for your websites and blogs (or whatever you want to use them for). Here's the description straight from her blog: "Magic Blog It Boards will change the way you prepare and display photos on the web. The MCP “Magic Blog It Board” photoshop actions create collages and display boards with between 2 and 16 openings. The actions insert photos for you and will drastically reduce the time you spend preparing collages, templates, and storyboards for your blog and site." And she's right! I love this set of actions! It's easy and fun! You should get them too! Just go to MCP Actions Here are some samples:
Earlier today, I was working on my black and white shooting techniques and convinced E that he should be my model. After about 20 shots of him frowing at me, I finally started to get some I could work with. As I was editing in Photoshop, I noticed that the picture I had chosen reminded me another one I had seen recently. All of a sudden it dawned on me that the picture it reminded me of was one I see everyday in my bedroom - it is a picture of my husband's father! And just as quickly as I realized who he reminded me of, I knew I had to do something to bring these two photos together. This is dedicated to Grandma Pat. We love you!
Just got through watching Jodi at MCP Actions give a tutorial on using textures on photos. I don't have any cute kid photos, but here's my first attempt with a couple of my friends. What do you think? And here it is using mutato-nomine's Vintage Photo action. You can find this action on DeviantArt.com.
My favorite Photoshop actions are those from Jodi at MCP Actions. About a month ago, I bought her "Quickie Collection" and have been playing with them to get a feel for what they can do. Here's a before and after using her Urban UltraViolet on one of my seniors. Before: After:
